John and I met in 2011 in Saint Tropez, where I worked as a primary school teacher and he ran his own landscaping business. After several wonderful years by the sea, we moved to Chester in 2016 for a calmer life and better opportunities for our children. My parents owned Glen Garth Guesthouse in Hoole, a place filled with family memories, and when my father’s health declined in 2021, I couldn’t bear to see it sold, so John and I took it over. With the support of my family, we poured our hearts into running the business and were thrilled to see it flourish, earning a 9.5 rating on Booking.com by 2025. Sadly, we lost my Dad that same year, and while we had planned to buy Glen Garth, circumstances led us to explore new dreams. Our love for Anglesey, where we often escaped to our caravan by the sea, inspired us to find a new beginning. By chance, we discovered a beautiful bed and breakfast for sale on the island, and within weeks we sold Glen Garth, made our offer, and began a new chapter as the proud owners of Blacksheep Lodge. Today, we live our dream—walking the beach each day, welcoming guests from all over the world, and sharing the warmth of our story with everyone who stays.
